Everyone uses their memory every day. It helps with every kind of task, from the most basic ones, like brushing your teeth, to the most complex ones, such as job related activities. Short term and long term memory are influenced by different issues and therefore require different methods of improvement and evaluation. Short-term memory is where you temporarily store small bits of information for 15-30 seconds and long-term memory is where information that's been determined to have value is held permanently.
